2014 BSAA Plant Science – Effects of Light on Photosynthesis

Plant Science students cover a leaf leaving a small opening for sunlight to strike the leaf for a 24 hour period. After 24 hours, the cover is removed and the leaf is boiled in water first and then in alcohol to remove the chorophyll. The leaf is flooded with iodine and placed over a light to see the starch deposits in the leaf blade.
