Electrical Wiring Labs

Welding Lab

Students conduct lab exercises in shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), oxyacetylene welding and cutting, and gas metallic arc welding (GMAW) or MIG welding.

Wind Power Labs

Agriscience students conduct an experiment determining what number of blades, blade length, and blade material type produces the highest power output by collecting voltage and amperage readings on a multimeter.

Bridge Design Lab (Free Span Structure)

Introduction to the Agriculture Industry students conduct an engineering lab on designing and constructing a free span structure (bridge) out of balsawood and testing its load capacity.

Students determine total load of sand and container held by the bridge prior to its destruction. The efficiency of the bridge is calculated by dividing the total load by the mass of the bridge.
